Capsule

An existential console for fictional cybernetic tools. Black manga ink held inside pearl fields, and capsule keys that seat like hardware.

The console keeps one person inside it.

As it warms, the pearl chamber fills with contour and screentone, a face resolving line by line, until the pilot is looking back out of the glass.

Contour drawn, screentone at 60 lpi. The glint holds in the eye.

Every control is a capsule key with one status bead. The bead lights the instant the key seats.

The whole console comes alive

Ink dries, beads hold, the shell answers. On the last seat the blue comes on across the rail and the figure at once, and for a moment the console is entirely, quietly awake.
