rules
Use a reading-first workspace: a slim navigation ledger, a central woven synthesis column, and a right evidence margin. Summaries are compact bands, not dominant hero cards.
Moderately dense for expert review: many evidence artifacts are visible, but each claim keeps a readable line length and clear source metadata.
Hierarchy comes from typographic contrast, rule placement, source rails, and whitespace. Color is sparse and semantic: status, confidence, provenance, and attention only.
layout
Desktop >= 1180px three columns; tablet 720-1179px collapses evidence margin below the synthesis thread; mobile < 720px becomes a single paper stack with horizontal provenance chips.
Desktop uses a 72px ledger rail, minmax(520px, 1fr) synthesis column, and 340px evidence margin with 24px gutters; cards align to an 8px baseline.
Ma is explicit around reading zones: broad outer margins, tight metadata clusters, and calm 24-32px breathing room between synthesis sections.
guidance
- Use off-white surfaces, mineral semantic accents, and black-brown text with WCAG-conscious contrast.
- Make confidence, evidence status, and source provenance visible in rails, chips, and compact rulers.
- Keep AI reasoning inspectable with short mono bookmarks and woven context links between claims.
- Let paper texture be structural and subtle: clipped to panels, below text, and low opacity.
- Do not use saturated rainbow status palettes, neon AI motifs, glassy panels, or generic purple gradients.
- Do not hide sources behind unstyled footnotes or make every card visually identical regardless of evidence quality.
- Do not over-round controls; this language prefers paper slips, small radii, and crisp hairlines.
- Do not add decorative Japanese patterns unless they encode layout, provenance, or state.

# AYA Washi Proof ## Philosophy AYA Washi Proof is a text-first evidence workspace where Kyoto paper craft, woven context, and modern AI transparency meet. It treats research synthesis as a quiet stack of tactile paper surfaces: restrained, legible, provenance-aware, and precise enough for high-trust decisions. ### Values - Evidence before decoration: every visual accent signals confidence, provenance, status, or reading order. - Paper tactility without nostalgia: washi grain, deckled separators, and fiber-like underlays remain quiet and functional. - Woven context synthesis: related claims, sources, and AI reasoning are interlaced in visible threads rather than hidden behind generic summaries. - Wabi-sabi restraint: slight asymmetry and soft mineral tones create humanity without compromising rigor. ### Anti-Values - Glossy AI dashboard chrome, neon gradients, glassmorphism, or saturated status confetti. - Generic card grids where provenance, confidence, and reasoning are visually indistinguishable. - Decorative Japanese motifs used as surface ornament without structural purpose. ### Visual Character - Layered paper panels use off-white background, warmer surface cards, one-pixel mineral borders, and inset hairline shadows instead of floating SaaS drop shadows. - Evidence cards include a narrow woven left rail made from repeating linear gradients that encode source provenance and confidence density. - Large text blocks sit in an editorial two-column grid with generous ma gutters, short measure, and sticky marginal metadata for source, confidence, and AI rationale. - Subtle washi grain is rendered with low-opacity radial and linear gradients clipped to surfaces, never full-screen texture that reduces contrast. - Interaction states shift by border weight, underline weave, and small mineral chips rather than large color fills or animated spectacle. ## Tokens ### Borders - **Accent Width**: 3px - **Character**: Low-contrast mineral hairlines that become 2px on focus and active evidence states. - **Default Width**: 1px - **Style**: solid with occasional dotted deckle separators ### Colors | Name | Value | |------|-------| | accent | `#6E8791` | | background | `#F4F1EA` | | border | `#D8D0C2` | | error | `#9A5149` | | info | `#5F7882` | | muted | `#767166` | | primary | `#4F5D50` | | secondary | `#8B7C61` | | success | `#5E745A` | | surface | `#FBFAF6` | | text | `#24231F` | | warning | `#A78347` | ### Motion - **Duration**: 150ms - **Easing**: cubic-bezier(0.2, 0, 0.1, 1) - **Philosophy**: Small tactile settling: underline weave darkens, cards press inward by 1px, and disclosure panels fade without bounce. ### Radii - **Full**: 9999px - **Lg**: 10px - **Md**: 5px - **None**: 0 - **Sm**: 2px ### Shadows - **Lg**: inset 0 0 0 1px rgba(216,208,194,0.9), 0 20px 42px rgba(66,58,44,0.10) - **Md**: inset 0 0 0 1px rgba(216,208,194,0.82), 0 8px 18px rgba(66,58,44,0.07) - **Sm**: inset 0 0 0 1px rgba(216,208,194,0.72), 0 1px 0 rgba(36,35,31,0.04) ### Spacing - **Base**: 8px - **Scale**: [4,8,12,16,24,32,48,64] ### Surfaces - **Bg Pattern**: Very quiet cross-fiber radial/linear gradient on the page background plus denser paper grain only inside raised surfaces. - **Card Style**: Flat evidence slips with 5px corners, mineral left rails, deckled dotted separators, and compact provenance chips. - **Treatment**: Paper-white and warm grey planes with low-opacity washi fiber gradients, inset hairlines, and no glossy highlights. ### Typography - **Base Size**: 16px - **Body Font**: Noto Sans JP - **Google Fonts Url**: https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=BIZ+UDPMincho:wght@400;700&family=Noto+Sans+JP:wght@400;500;700&family=IBM+Plex+Mono:wght@400;500&display=swap - **Heading Font**: BIZ UDPMincho - **Letter Spacing**: -0.012em - **Line Height**: 1.58 - **Mono Font**: IBM Plex Mono - **Scale Ratio**: 1.2 ## Rules ### Composition Use a reading-first workspace: a slim navigation ledger, a central woven synthesis column, and a right evidence margin. # AYA Washi Proof
## Overview
AYA Washi Proof is a text-first evidence workspace where Kyoto paper craft, woven context, and modern AI transparency meet. It treats research synthesis as a quiet stack of tactile paper surfaces: restrained, legible, provenance-aware, and precise enough for high-trust decisions.
### Values
- Evidence before decoration: every visual accent signals confidence, provenance, status, or reading order.
- Paper tactility without nostalgia: washi grain, deckled separators, and fiber-like underlays remain quiet and functional.
- Woven context synthesis: related claims, sources, and AI reasoning are interlaced in visible threads rather than hidden behind generic summaries.
- Wabi-sabi restraint: slight asymmetry and soft mineral tones create humanity without compromising rigor.
### Anti-Values
- Glossy AI dashboard chrome, neon gradients, glassmorphism, or saturated status confetti.
- Generic card grids where provenance, confidence, and reasoning are visually indistinguishable.
- Decorative Japanese motifs used as surface ornament without structural purpose.
### Visual Character
- Layered paper panels use off-white background, warmer surface cards, one-pixel mineral borders, and inset hairline shadows instead of floating SaaS drop shadows.

## shadcn/ui Usage
When the target app uses shadcn/ui, copy DESIGN.md with shadcn instead of the plain DESIGN.md. It contains the same Katagami design-language source plus the shadcn/ui primitives, imports, theme variables, component recipes, and preview-shot guidance.
DESIGN.md with shadcn: `/language/en-019ed833-c530-7622-a612-cc5ec5fe8222/DESIGN.with-shadcn.md`.
The shadcn page also exposes optional machine-readable files for automation, but the human-facing handoff is DESIGN.md with shadcn.
Install recommended primitives with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.
Use these primitives in shadcn apps:
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table
Implementation rule for agents: import shadcn primitives from `@/components/ui/*`, apply the generated CSS variables first, then compose the language-specific recipes from the companion MD. Katagami remains the source of truth; shadcn names are the implementation surface.
## Do's and Don'ts
- Do Use off-white surfaces, mineral semantic accents, and black-brown text with WCAG-conscious contrast.
- Do Make confidence, evidence status, and source provenance visible in rails, chips, and compact rulers.
- Do Keep AI reasoning inspectable with short mono bookmarks and woven context links between claims.
- Do Let paper texture be structural and subtle: clipped to panels, below text, and low opacity.
- Don't Do not use saturated rainbow status palettes, neon AI motifs, glassy panels, or generic purple gradients.
- Don't Do not hide sources behind unstyled footnotes or make every card visually identical regardless of evidence quality.
- Don't Do not over-round controls; this language prefers paper slips, small radii, and crisp hairlines.
- Don't Do not add decorative Japanese patterns unless they encode layout, provenance, or state.

# AYA Washi Proof shadcn/ui Components
Artifact: `component-recipes-v1`
Author: `katagami-ui-projection`
Language ID: `en-019ed833-c530-7622-a612-cc5ec5fe8222`
Slug: `aya-washi-proof`
## Intent
AYA Washi Proof is a text-first evidence workspace where Kyoto paper craft, woven context, and modern AI transparency meet. It treats research synthesis as a quiet stack of tactile paper surfaces: restrained, legible, provenance-aware, and precise enough for high-trust decisions.
## Required primitives
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table
Install with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.

## Visual character to preserve
- Layered paper panels use off-white background, warmer surface cards, one-pixel mineral borders, and inset hairline shadows instead of floating SaaS drop shadows.
## ShadSync visual profile

## Signature component recipes
### Button
Use `Button` for primary, secondary, outline, and ghost actions. Primary actions must expose the language's strongest contrast pair, while secondary and ghost actions should preserve the surface treatment instead of falling back to default neutral SaaS styling.
### Card
Use `Card`, `CardHeader`, `CardContent`, `CardFooter`, and `CardAction` as the main composition frame. Cards should demonstrate the language's surface, border, hierarchy, and density rules rather than appearing as generic rounded rectangles.
### Input and Textarea
Use `Input` and `Textarea` with visible focus rings, field labels, validation states, and the language's rhythm. Forms should show real product content, not placeholder-only controls.
### Select, Tabs, and Table
Use `Select`, `Tabs`, and `Table` to prove navigation, filtering, and dense data states. The table should show row rhythm, separators, hover/focus states, and an empty or status state when the language calls for it.
### Dialog and Sheet
Use `Dialog` for centered decisions and `Sheet` for contextual editing. Both should inherit the language's spacing, border, overlay, and motion rules.
## Preview shots
- `application-shell`: dashboard or workspace shell with navigation, cards, forms, and state badges.
- `detail-editor`: focused editing flow using input, textarea, select, switch/checkbox, dialog or sheet, and action buttons.
- `data-operations`: table-heavy operational view with tabs, dropdown menu affordances, badges, and destructive/empty states.
- Each preview shot must include a renderable `scene` payload with concrete headline, description, actions, and rows/fields/stats for the UI preview.
## Implementation contract
- Start from local `ui/src/components/ui` shadcn-style primitives; do not create a second component system.
- Apply `/katagami/shadcn/aya-washi-proof/registry-theme.json` variables, then use these recipes for composition and state design.
- Preserve Katagami token names as source metadata; shadcn semantic names are only the export surface.
- Do: Use off-white surfaces, mineral semantic accents, and black-brown text with WCAG-conscious contrast.; Make confidence, evidence status, and source provenance visible in rails, chips, and compact rulers.; Keep AI reasoning inspectable with short mono bookmarks and woven context links between claims.; Let paper texture be structural and subtle: clipped to panels, below text, and low opacity.
- Do not: Do not use saturated rainbow status palettes, neon AI motifs, glassy panels, or generic purple gradients.; Do not hide sources behind unstyled footnotes or make every card visually identical regardless of evidence quality.; Do not over-round controls; this language prefers paper slips, small radii, and crisp hairlines.; Do not add decorative Japanese patterns unless they encode layout, provenance, or state.
## Copy-paste component example
This generated starter proves the import shape. Production Katagami agents should replace it with a language-specific product composition.
