Hierarchy comes from type contrast, thread weight, and column position. Shippori Mincho names the editorial argument; Zen Kaku Gothic carries dense operational text; mono appears only for IDs and row coordinates.

density

Designed for calm enterprise/editorial density with compact rows, long labels, and data modules without becoming a KPI dashboard.

Desktop uses a 12-column grid with 24px gutters and shared vertical warp rules; tablet becomes 8 columns; mobile becomes one reading column with the selvage rail folded above each module.

Whitespace is ma: preserve a generous outer margin and one unfilled breathing pocket per screen, while inner modules remain text-dense and precisely threaded.

guidance
do
  • Use warm paper surfaces, ink text, taupe thread borders, and restrained indigo/sumi/sage accents.
  • Make weaving structural in grids, dividers, table rules, tabs, and connectors; every motif must support reading.
  • Let long text, records, metadata, and evidence snippets coexist through precise columns and calm type hierarchy.
  • Keep radii committed and small: 0 to 6px only, with flat paper panels.
avoid
  • Do not use neon, red sun clichés, brushstroke decoration, generic torii or wave motifs, or ornamental Japanese pastiche.
  • Do not create three equal analytics cards as the main scene or rely on large KPI numbers for identity.
  • Do not mix arbitrary plush radii, heavy shadows, gradients, glassmorphism, or colorful filled cards.
  • Do not make the interface sparse to the point that it cannot support text-heavy product work.

# Aya Woven Correspondence

## Philosophy

Aya Woven Correspondence is a calm, text-heavy product language for teams stitching many contextual fragments into one readable editorial workspace. It borrows from Japanese weaving, ma, and printed correspondence: information is interlaced by fine threads, not inflated into dashboard spectacle.

### Values

- Interlaced context over isolated widgets
- Quiet density with deliberate emptiness
- Ink-first legibility on warm paper surfaces
- Data modules that read like annotated textile ledgers
- Restrained accents used as reading aids, never decoration

### Anti-Values

- Generic SaaS dashboard cards with colorful KPI theatrics
- Arbitrary rounded softness, glass, gradients, heavy shadows, or neon Japanese pastiche
- Sparse marketing minimalism that cannot hold operational text

### Visual Character

- Use a warm off-white body and ivory section surfaces separated by 1px semi-transparent thread dividers, with modules drawn as flat paper panels and almost no shadow.
- Build desktop composition on a 12-column editorial grid where cards align to thin vertical warp rules and leave deliberate ma pockets.
- Set headings in Shippori Mincho and dense interface text in Zen Kaku Gothic New, with small metadata labels tracked at 0.08em.
- Apply restrained indigo, sumi, and sage as narrow left threads, table status stitches, and small inline badges rather than broad filled surfaces.
- Represent woven context with repeating-linear-gradient thread underlays and crossing hairlines visible in tables, notes, tabs, and dividers.

## shadcn/ui Usage

When the target app uses shadcn/ui, copy DESIGN.md with shadcn instead of the plain DESIGN.md. It contains the same Katagami design-language source plus the shadcn/ui primitives, imports, theme variables, component recipes, and preview-shot guidance.

DESIGN.md with shadcn: `/language/en-019ed837-044d-7322-bda3-feef5ad5774f/DESIGN.with-shadcn.md`.

The shadcn page also exposes optional machine-readable files for automation, but the human-facing handoff is DESIGN.md with shadcn.

Install recommended primitives with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.

Use these primitives in shadcn apps:
- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table

Implementation rule for agents: import shadcn primitives from `@/components/ui/*`, apply the generated CSS variables first, then compose the language-specific recipes from the companion MD. Katagami remains the source of truth; shadcn names are the implementation surface.

## Do's and Don'ts

- Do Use warm paper surfaces, ink text, taupe thread borders, and restrained indigo/sumi/sage accents.
- Do Make weaving structural in grids, dividers, table rules, tabs, and connectors; every motif must support reading.
- Do Let long text, records, metadata, and evidence snippets coexist through precise columns and calm type hierarchy.
- Do Keep radii committed and small: 0 to 6px only, with flat paper panels.
- Don't Do not use neon, red sun clichés, brushstroke decoration, generic torii or wave motifs, or ornamental Japanese pastiche.
- Don't Do not create three equal analytics cards as the main scene or rely on large KPI numbers for identity.
- Don't Do not mix arbitrary plush radii, heavy shadows, gradients, glassmorphism, or colorful filled cards.
- Don't Do not make the interface sparse to the point that it cannot support text-heavy product work.

### Accessibility

Maintain WCAG AA contrast on warm surfaces, never encode state by accent color alone, keep focus states visible as indigo thread outlines.

### Usage Context

Best for research synthesis tools, policy review workspaces, knowledge operations, editorial product management, calm enterprise records, and data-rich applications where many pieces of context must be read together.

# Aya Woven Correspondence shadcn/ui Components

Artifact: `component-recipes-v1`
Author: `katagami-ui-projection`
Language ID: `en-019ed837-044d-7322-bda3-feef5ad5774f`
Slug: `aya-woven-correspondence`

## Intent

Aya Woven Correspondence is a calm, text-heavy product language for teams stitching many contextual fragments into one readable editorial workspace. It borrows from Japanese weaving, ma, and printed correspondence: information is interlaced by fine threads, not inflated into dashboard spectacle.

## Required primitives

- button
- card
- input
- textarea
- select
- dialog
- sheet
- tabs
- badge
- separator
- checkbox
- switch
- slider
- tooltip
- dropdown-menu
- table

Install with `npx shadcn@latest add button card input textarea select dialog sheet tabs badge separator checkbox switch slider tooltip dropdown-menu table`.

## Token cues

  "success": "#597057",
  "surface": "#FFFDF7",
  "text": "#24211C",
  "warning": "#A46D27"
}

Typography:

{
  "base_size": "16px",
  "body_font": "Zen Kaku Gothic New",
  "google_fonts_url": "https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=IBM+Plex+Mono:wght@400;500&family=Shippori+Mincho:wght@500;600;700&family=Zen+Kaku+Gothic+New:wght@400;500;700&display=swap",

}

## Visual character to preserve

## ShadSync visual profile

}

## Signature component recipes

### Button
Use `Button` for primary, secondary, outline, and ghost actions. Primary actions must expose the language's strongest contrast pair, while secondary and ghost actions should preserve the surface treatment instead of falling back to default neutral SaaS styling.

### Card
Use `Card`, `CardHeader`, `CardContent`, `CardFooter`, and `CardAction` as the main composition frame. Cards should demonstrate the language's surface, border, hierarchy, and density rules rather than appearing as generic rounded rectangles.

### Input and Textarea
Use `Input` and `Textarea` with visible focus rings, field labels, validation states, and the language's rhythm. Forms should show real product content, not placeholder-only controls.

### Select, Tabs, and Table
Use `Select`, `Tabs`, and `Table` to prove navigation, filtering, and dense data states. The table should show row rhythm, separators, hover/focus states, and an empty or status state when the language calls for it.

### Dialog and Sheet
Use `Dialog` for centered decisions and `Sheet` for contextual editing. Both should inherit the language's spacing, border, overlay, and motion rules.

## Preview shots

- `application-shell`: dashboard or workspace shell with navigation, cards, forms, and state badges.
- `detail-editor`: focused editing flow using input, textarea, select, switch/checkbox, dialog or sheet, and action buttons.
- `data-operations`: table-heavy operational view with tabs, dropdown menu affordances, badges, and destructive/empty states.
- Each preview shot must include a renderable `scene` payload with concrete headline, description, actions, and rows/fields/stats for the UI preview.

## Implementation contract

- Start from local `ui/src/components/ui` shadcn-style primitives; do not create a second component system.
- Apply `/katagami/shadcn/aya-woven-correspondence/registry-theme.json` variables, then use these recipes for composition and state design.
- Preserve Katagami token names as source metadata; shadcn semantic names are only the export surface.
- Do: Use warm paper surfaces, ink text, taupe thread borders, and restrained indigo/sumi/sage accents.; Make weaving structural in grids, dividers, table rules, tabs, and connectors; every motif must support reading.; Let long text, records, metadata, and evidence snippets coexist through precise columns and calm type hierarchy.; Keep radii committed and small: 0 to 6px only, with flat paper panels.
- Do not: Do not use neon, red sun clichés, brushstroke decoration, generic torii or wave motifs, or ornamental Japanese pastiche.; Do not create three equal analytics cards as the main scene or rely on large KPI numbers for identity.; Do not mix arbitrary plush radii, heavy shadows, gradients, glassmorphism, or colorful filled cards.; Do not make the interface sparse to the point that it cannot support text-heavy product work.

## Copy-paste component example

This generated starter proves the import shape. Production Katagami agents should replace it with a language-specific product composition.
